Welcome to the Ashville Elementary Media Center Web site. We are looking forward to another exciting and fun year.
Our annual Scholastic Book Fair is scheduled for Novermber 30 – December 11, with family events planned for the evenings of December 2 and December 8 during our parent-teacher conferences. The theme for this year's fair is “Destination Book Fair - Read Around the World!” Come and join us for some great adventures!
Our elementary media centers subscribe to the informational web sites listed below. Students can access these web sites from school and home. Please contact me for user names and passwords.

Our district is now using Destiny, a new Web-based library system. Destiny will allow you to access or school library catalog from home. The link for Destiny is at the top of this page. Once there, you also hav the option of clicking on links to the above resources, as well as other educational sites, including the local public libraries. Students with Pickaway County library cards can link to many valuable resources to help with homework.
In June, the elementary schools will be hosting award winning illustrators Christopher and Jeanette Canyon. Christopher has visited the Teays Valley district several times in the past and is a great favorite. This will be Jeanette's first time to visit the elementaries, and we are very excited. Please visit their website at: http://www.JeanetteAndChristopherCanyon.com.
I am looking forward to another exciting and fun year.

Author/Illustrator Mike Artell visited the Teays Valley Elementary Schools May 21-23. Leading up to his visit, the students read his books and participated in educational activities focusing on his books. They also made art projects, which they displayed in the hallways for him to enjoy.
